How do you guarantee an appropriate Information Product Specification that is completely and reliably validated by the domain experts? FOM stands for 'Fact-Oriented Modeling'. As participant in the course Hands-On Fact Oriented Modeling (FOM) you are initiated in this powerful modeling technique for conceptual information modeling in two blocks of two days.
An FOM model is a conceptual information model that consists of a complete set of relevant facts, carefully verbalized in the language of the company knowledge workers involved based on concrete examples. These company knowledge workers can henceforth validate the model directly at any desired moment.
This makes FOM for you as information analyst indispensable for creating appropriate data structures both in classic OLTP database projects and in Business Intelligence projects, in which information from many different sources and environments has to be interrelated together in a correct way. For all these reasons many companies have already chosen FOM as standard for their modeling projects.
